KEN'S ANGELS.
My daughters and I are walking the 7 mile Midnight Walk in memory of a wonderful husband and devoted Daddy. Ken passed away on 28th March 2016, 27 days after we received a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with massive spread. The news was devastating and telling our three daughters, then aged 16,12 and 9, that their Daddy was going to die was the hardest thing I think I will ever have to do.
Ken was transferred to St Catherine's on March 24th, just before Easter weekend. We had had a turbulent time in hospital and with much support from the hospital staff, we were found a bed for Ken, for him to spend his last few days with us,
St Catherine's made all the difference to us as a family. I was able to stop being his carer and to be his wife again. The hospice gave the children the freedom to be Kens children again and we were so well looked after and supported, I can't tell you how much difference it made to this dark time in our lives.
The hospice were there for us when Ken passed away and have supported me through counselling to come to terms with becoming a widow at the age of 42.
We want to raise as much money as we can for St Catherine's to help others like us, who need the support, love and care of this wonderful end of life safe haven.
Please support us with any donation you can make in memory of such a wonderful, kind, funny man.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Wendy 43, Charlotte 17, Hannah 12 and Sophie 10.
